Goodwill Northern Michigan is seeking a new Goodwill Inn Shelter Operations Manager to continue our work as a trusted community-owned nonprofit working to support regional housing and food stability, as well as workforce development. Our Shelter Operations Manager has a passion for the work of Goodwill Northern Michigan and our vision of a community where everyone has access to a safe and secure place to live, the nutritious food they need, and opportunities for empowering employment, so that all of us can thrive. This position is located in the beautiful resort town of Traverse City, Michigan and our programs serve 19 Northern Michigan counties. 

The Goodwill Inn Operations Manager is responsible for leading the operations of our Temporary Emergency Homeless Shelter including hiring, scheduling, training, and supervising a staff of Human Service Workers; providing after-hours on-call support; overseeing cleanliness and safety of the physical plant; assisting with financial and program reporting, payroll, budgeting, and ordering; and collaborating with partner agencies. 

The ideal candidate will have 2 to 3 years of supervisory experience and experience working with people experiencing homelessness. A high school diploma is a must and a bachelor's degree in social work or related human services field is preferred. The Shelter Operations Manager will maintain a safe, dignified, and respectful environment for all GoodwillNMI guests, visitors, and staff.  

Compensation 

Remuneration for this position is based on experience with a salary range of $55,000 to $65,000 per year. We offer competitive benefits that include a retirement plan with match, group health plan, dental, vision, life insurance, and paid time off.
