9/5/13 — 2013 “We Honor Military” Expo and Veteran Stand Down

The Northern Michigan Partnership for Veterans and Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center announce the third annual “We Honor Military and VA Stand Down” will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at the Otsego County Sportsplex, 1250 Gornick Ave., Gaylord.
All active and veteran military men and women from all branches of service and their families are invited to attend this free celebration in their honor.
An opening program starting at 10:30 a.m. will include words of recognition and appreciation from national leaders for the sacrifices our military men and women and their families have made, and continue to make, on behalf of our country.
This also will be a fun-filled day with activities for all ages, including free services, food and entertainment.
More than 300 members of the military and their families attended the 2012 event and ranged in age from 12 months to 88 years. Attendees were from all branches of the service from active military to veteran.
The Northern Michigan Partnership for Veterans is a community-based organization participating in the “We Honor Veterans” project which is a national awareness and action campaign initiated by the National Palliative Care and Hospice Organization in collaboration with the Department of Veterans Affairs.
