1. OUR STORES ARE DESIGNED TO SUPPORT OUR MISSION SERVICES
GOOD finds and GOOD value are just the beginning. When we sell items, the money goes toward our mission services to provide Jobs, Housing, and Food programs for our Northern Michigan neighbors in need. Our 9 retail and donation centers also create jobs and offer training opportunities.
2. YOU MAY KNOW SOMEONE WE HELPED
Someone who graduated from our Goodwill JOB training program and obtained reliable work; sought safe HOUSING with custom case management support to return to stability and independence; received nourishment from our FOOD program, which collects and distributes soon-to-expire fresh foods to the area’s 40+ food pantries, shelters and community meals programs; secured safe, dependable transportation through our Workers on Wheels program.
3. ALL OF OUR EMPLOYEES EARN MINIMUM WAGE OR MORE
Every one of our 280+ employees within our 19 county Northern Michigan service area earn a minimum starting wage of $9 an hour. That is higher than the Michigan State minimum wage. Many of our employees are eligible for raises after only 90 days on the job and are provided annual performance reviews.
4. DAN IS OUR CEO
Like other nonprofits, Goodwill is managed by a local volunteer board of directors which provides guidance. Our CEO, Dan Buron, offers 15+ years of leadership experience with Goodwill organizations throughout the United States. His leadership ensures that one of northern Michigan’s largest nonprofits is fulfilling its mission.
5. 91 CENTS OF EVERY DOLLAR WE EARN FUNDS OUR MISSION

mission services to provide GOOD JOBS, HOUSING, and FOOD programs for our Northern Michigan neighbors in need. Nationwide, Goodwill is rated “A” grade by Charity Watch
