11/24/12 — Boy Scout Cameron Holtcamp makes a difference!
Cameron Holtcamp began in the Boy Scouts when he was 10 years old. He has made it through every rank and is now in the process of becoming an Eagle Scout.
In order to become an Eagle Scout, Cameron needed to complete a project that would show leadership skills, compassion, and benefit a community. He was able to ask for donations and pull together a group of 12 individuals to complete the project.
Cameron worked to enhance the appearance of the Goodwill Benzie Shelter by pulling weeds, adding plants and flowers, picking up any trash, painting the outside decks and replacing the outside close line. Cameron completed this project this fall. He is a part of Troop #35, which his father Ron Holtcamp is the Troop Leader.
Goodwill Industries of Northern Michigan truly appreciates what Cameron and his volunteers did to the Goodwill Benzie Shelter to make it an even more inviting place for a homeless Benzie County family can stay temporarily while they get back on their feet.
